Our Story
Dack is short for Dale and Jack (that’s us). We’re winemakers who ply our craft in the Greater Melbourne area.
Dale Wilde is the winemaker and vineyard manager for Arundel Farm Estate in Keilor, and is Jack Johnson’s predecessor as a winemaker and vineyard manager for contract winery and viticultural consultancy company, The Wine Creche. Having worked in wineries, vineyards and, in a past life, hospitality venues around Victoria and, in Jack’s case, Queensland, we’ve been privileged to see the wine industry from a variety of perspectives.
These perspectives helped us form the idea for Dack Wines, based on the belief that good wine doesn’t need to be complicated or expensive. We’ve set out to make fresh, fruit-forward and smashable wines which don’t break the bank. We do our best to source our grapes from sustainably accredited vineyards and growers who follow the responsible farming practices we aim to apply in our own careers. Most importantly, we try to keep out of the way of the wines during their production, guiding them gently and intervening only where necessary.
Unfiltered, unfined, uncomplicated.
